Carpet cleaning prices across New Jersey range from very cheap to very high, often for the same job. Here is what fair, transparent pricing looks like in 2026.
Pricing by room and home size
Most NJ companies price by room, with a typical room running $50 to $80. A standard whole-home cleaning of three to five rooms usually starts at $169 and lands between $200 and $400.
Stairs are quoted per step, usually $3 to $5. Hallways are often included with adjacent rooms.
What changes the price
Carpet condition matters most. Light maintenance cleaning is fast. Pet-treated carpet, heavy traffic lanes, and set-in stains all require pre-treatment, longer dwell time, and sometimes a second pass.
Carpet type also matters. Berber, wool, and high-pile synthetic each need slightly different chemistry and pace. Wool is the slowest because it cannot tolerate high heat or alkaline cleaners.
Watch for low-ball pricing
If a quote comes in well below $100 for a full home, the price almost always grows on arrival. Common add-ons include pre-treatment, deodorizer, traffic lane cleaner, and stairs, each at $30 to $60 extra.
A fair quote includes all of that up front.
Bottom line
Pricing should be flat and clear before we arrive. Call us for a free quote based on actual room sizes and condition, not a teaser rate.
